Women Empowering Women
Hi Babes,
It's crazy to think this time last year; I had ten beautiful Latina women in my home for a shoot to empower women of all shapes and sizes. This shoot was to show women to love themselves no matter what society deems as beautiful.
I have always said that on my platform, I want everyone to feel equal and beautiful. The Soy Yo Soy Hermosa campaign was something that I wanted to expand on and eventually will. I honestly thought that I would have had another shoot this Summer with different ethnicities, but with what's happening in the world, that shoot might have to wait for next Summer.
I thought about this shoot because there is a challenge going around social media for women to post themselves in a black and white image. I honestly think it is a beautiful sentiment for women to challenge women that inspire them; however, it made me think about myself as a woman. Posting a picture of myself wouldn't feel right because I am always trying to highlight others. You would think being a person that posts pictures daily of herself would mean I like attention, that's further from the truth. I share myself and my journey to empower women. I am a daughter, sister, wife, and mother, but first, I am Lissette. We as women wear so many hats that we sometimes forget how badass we are. I prefer to be that reminder for others because I like my tribe to know that, and that's why I do what I do.
The state the world is in is terrible, I think we can all agree to that. It doesn't take much to be kind, to uplift, to fix another females crown when she tumbles. I choose daily to make others smile because we all have legacies we will leave behind when it's our time. I want my legacy to be that of a woman that shows other women that they can wear multiple hats and succeed. I will continue to highlight other boss women because when one of us wins, we all do. There are enough seats at the table, so pull up sis, we got moves to make. Enjoy some never before photos from this beautiful day with some amazing badass women.
