I am back! If you haven't noticed, I took a little hiatus from the blog because I have been enjoying the summer with the family. We have been having such a fun-filled summer, and I am ready to share with you what we have been up to.
A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of being hosted by Great Wolf Lodge, and I have to tell you we had a fantastic time. I have visited this location a few years back, so I was excited to bring the kids for the first time because I knew there was going to be a lot of changes since my last visit.
This year Great Wolfe Lodge is giving the guest a view of it's first-ever Summer Camp-In celebration running until Labor Day weekend. Guest can expect new experiences such as pool parties, character appearances, camp cuisine, games, music. The great thing about Great Wold Lodge is most of the activities are inside, so no need to worry about the weather. I loved that you felt like you were on campgrounds. You can view camp decor around the resort, and the staff can be seen wearing counselor apparel. Great Wold Lodge really went all out to give the guest a feel of summer camp. Annabelle loved dancing along with the staffers at the pool party and Ayden loved story time.
The biggest attraction at every Great Wolf Lodge is the enormous indoor water park. They have many water slides and a toddler water play area. The kids enjoyed the toddler section the most because it was easy for them to navigate and splash around. Once you exit the water-park, you can discover other exciting attractions such as a ropes course, climbing wall, miniature golf, and larger than life games like connect four.
The kids loved the MagiQuest Game– a mystical adventure game where players use interactive magic wands to discover relics and runes needed to defeat goblins and dragons. You can only find this game at Great Wolf Lodge. I loved that we had to find each clue, and it allowed families to mingle with other guests.
Here are some of the activities your family can enjoy.
Character Breakfast: Guest can mingle with Wiley the Wolf, Oliver Raccoon, Sammy the Squirrel and other characters as guests are treated to a morning breakfast buffet. Wiley and friends will also circulate throughout the breakfast for photos and autographs.
Pool Party: Activities include limbo, rubber duck races, corn hole toss, and a conga dance.
Trailblazer Challenge: Guest can sign up for select activities and earn a badge for every game they complete. When campers collect ten badges, they receive the title of Trailblazer.
S' mores: This cute little section was a great little treat after dinner.
Campfire Ceremony: The ceremony of lighting the fireplace means the nighttime fun begins. There's singing, face painting, s' mores, silly story-swapping, character shows and, Story Time.
While daddy ran around with the kids in the indoor waterpark, mommy hung out by the pool where they had fantastic music and excellent food. I had these to die for crab cakes with my coca-cola, and I was in heaven. The kids also loved the candy store; they chose all their favorites to take home. Overall our stay was a perfect mini-getaway. We had so many options of fun to choose from and never felt a shortage of of activities to do. There was plenty of entertainment for kids of all ages.
