Disney's Coco
Hi Babes,
Happy Tuesday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend, whether it was relaxing at home or enjoying time out. This weekend was a little of both, which for me is always a good combo. I wanted this post to be live for you on Sunday, but the reality is life happens. If you are new here, you are not privy to my love of Halloween. I like the dressing up part but don't celebrate the demonic aspect of it if that makes sense. It's become a family tradition that we create fun looks with each other and share with all of you. I think these are memories that our kids will cherish for a lifetime.
Each year I choose one look, and Annabelle decides the other. This year I wanted to Xmen, but it was super hard to find children's sized costumes, and I didn't have time to create my own, so maybe next year. We opted for Avengers as my pick. Coco was Annabelles pick last year, but I couldn't make it happen, so she asked again this year. I honestly was hesitant about creating the movie because I wanted to be very sensitive to Mexican Culture. Being Puerto Rican, I wouldn't take offense to a child wearing garments representing my culture, but that's just me. We live in a world where people are super sensitive to certain things, so I asked some Mexican friends of mine, and they felt that Coco paid homage to the culture and children dressing up as the characters were ok. I made sure to purchase Ayden's garments and Annabelles dress from a Mexican-owned shop on Etsy. I informed both shop owners what it was for, so they decided if they did not want to sell it for that purpose; the shop owners were thrilled and wanted pictures afterward.
I was so happy that everyone loved the way we captured COCO The Movie. I truly love making these memories with my family. It might be extra for some, but my children truly love seeing the results and memories I will always cherish. I hope you love the pictures. I want to thank Jovan (aka @Ponyy_Boyy) for creating these looks and the great edit. Thank you to Geri for the amazing pictures. Till next year! Happy Halloween!
